Description
This event will present one facility's experience with performing blood component collection in the immediate preoperative period for patients having elective cardiac surgery, which requires the use of the bypass pump.
- Discuss the feasibility of meeting the patient's transfusion needs with autologous collection.
- Discuss the logistics of collecting blood components for autologous transfusion in the operating room setting.
