Description
OBJECTIVES:- Discuss the observations of the hemovigiliance system in the province of Quebec Canada with respect to respiratory complications following transfusion.
- Describe recent clinical studies of the pathophysiology of TRALI.
- Relate the effects of storage time of red blood cells on arterial endothelial cell function.
- Discuss the findings of mouse model studies investigating the role of red blood cell storage and storage solutions on sepsis and phagocytotic processes.
