Description
OBJECTIVES:
- Evaluate the response to random donor platelets in newborns with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia.
- Discuss the effects of red blood cell and granulocyte transfusions in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant.
- Review studies of large volume pre-operative autologous donations in pediatric patients and a case report of transfusion acquired carboxyhemoglobinemia during surgery.
- Explain an association of leucopenia and anti-HLA Class 1 Antibodies as a cause of neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia.
