How To Overcome Hiring "Hamsterization"
Description
In today's fast-paced marketplace, talented personnel have become more valuable than gold. Identifying and attracting these individuals, however, is a skill many interviewers do not possess. Typical interviews do not necessarily provide consistent results or accurately predict which applicants will go on to become stellar performers. This audio conference will discuss how to consistently hire the right person for the right position, using the technique of behavioral interviewing. Behavioral interviewing is based on the premise that a job candidate's previous behaviors are the best indicators of future performance. In behavioral interviews, the interviewer asks candidates to recall specific instances where they were faced with a set of circumstances, how they reacted, and probes for the results of the candidate's actions. Taking it a step further, this audio conference will use case studies to identify how to tie behavioral interview questions directly into the specific job competencies of the open position.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
-
Conduct an effective interview that makes a positive impression on candidates, increasing job acceptance rates.
-
Make better hiring decisions based on competency-based behavioral interviewing techniques.
-
Probe for past performance, motivations, and capabilities, not just for work experience, during the interview process.
-
Structure the interview process to provide consistent results and hire the right person for the right position.
-
Utilize tools to transform incomplete or unrelated answers to interview questions into useful answers.
