Description
Interested in learning the basic applications of flow cytometry in the CT lab? Want to know what to expect when analyzing various types of CT products? Would you like to easily understand how to interpret a dot plot flow analysis result in order to quickly recognize when results are questionable? And what are the challenges encountered when working with fresh vs. frozen products? This session will address these and other CT lab challenges that occur when collecting flow cytometry data for analysis. It will focus on the key concepts relevant to the CT lab and CT products. Flow analysis of various common CT products, such as HPC, Marrow; HPC, Apheresis; and HPC, Cord Blood products will be used to illustrate how to interpret dot plots and the language used to do so. These will be contrasted with more extensively manipulated products. Appropriate controls used for different CT product analysis and CD34+ cell enumeration will also be discussed.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
-
Describe questions to ask your flow lab (external) or CT flow operator (internal) when product analysis results are unclear or unexpected.
-
Discuss methods used to analyze flow data for common CT products.
-
Provide an overview of flow techniques and applications for the CT lab.
-
Provide examples of the flow analysis challenges with some CT products.
