Description
This audience interactive session will reinforce skills and provide new insights related to the clinical and regulatory/administrative responsibilities for the transfusion service physician.

  • Apply molecular testing in transfusion medicine to improve patient care and blood product management.
  • Describe the risk factors of obstetric hemorrhage, assess blood loss and provide consultation for patient management with both blood products and pharmacologic agents.
  • Provide appropriate communications as a transfusion service physician to blood product recipients, other physicians and blood collection centers regarding look-back, market withdrawals and recalls.
