Documentation Needed to Manage Your Equipment
Description
Managing equipment in the blood bank can be challenging. Who is responsible for taking care of the equipment? How is it documented and do you have access to this documentation? This workshop will review the quality essentials for equipment and present ideas to document ongoing management of equipment. There will be a discussion of working with other departments that may perform some of the maintenance on blood bank equipment along with blood bank access to the documentation.

  • Describe the documentation needed for management of equipment.
  • Discuss challenges in documentation of equipment maintenance when other departments service blood bank equipment.
  • List the elements of a quality system for equipment in the blood bank.
