Totally Human Monoclonal Antibodies: Harvesting the Native Humoral Immune Response in Cancer and Infectious Disease
Description
This session will focus on the production and evaluation of monoclonal antibodies comparing murine antibody production to human antibody production. This session will introduce you to the new human fusion partner cell lines which have been developed, and their application for the production of therapeutic agents. The session will conclude with a discussion that compares and contrasts the use of monoclonal antibodies (both human and murine) with human polyclonal reagents, their advantages, and their disadvantages.
-
Discuss the human fusion partner cell lines and their implication for monoclonal antibody production.
-
Explain the differences and advantages of monoclonal antibodies as serological reagents.
-
Review methods for immunization and production of hybridomas.
