OBJECTIVES:
  • Understand the results of 2 years testing for T. cruzi antibodies, the rationale for development of a selective testing strategy, and the costs of such strategies Understand the performance characteristics of tests for T. cruzi antibodies.
  • Understand some aspects of the epidemiology of T cruzi infection among blood donors in South America and its impact upon US blood safety.
