Description

OBJECTIVES:
  • Recognize novel disease-specific and seasonal associations of thrombotic
    thrombocytopenic purpura.
  • Consider therapeutic plasmapheresis or red cell exchange for unusual red
    cell disorders.
  • Manage issues related to the low blood volume of pediatric patients requiring therapeutic pheresis procedures.
  • Discuss the etiology and prevention of progressive joint arthropathy in C282Y- homozygous hemochromatosis.
