Description
This session will explore industry support of blood banking and transfusion medicine practitioners and the associated ethical implications. There will be lectures as well as case studies with active participation of the audience.

  • Assess relationships between blood banking practitioners and blood banking vendors.
  • Describe ethical conflicts of interest and perceived conflicts of interest between blood banking industry and practitioners.
  • Discern the difference between appropriate industry support and industry manipulation.
