Description
This session will feature two leaders in the transfusion medicine/blood banking community discussing current controversies from a blood center viewpoint. Possible topics include: underage donation, a right, a need, or wrong?; TRALI testing, for all donors and all products?; blood center variation in infectious disease testing, good or bad; regulatory agencies, driving or inhibiting blood safety.

  • Compare data or lack thereof in support for or against controversial topics.
  • Discuss controversial topics related to the future of transfusion medicine/ blood banking.
