DESCRIPTION
Blood is a critical element of the healthcare infrastructure; yet it is often overlooked in planning at the local, state and national level. Lessons learned from bioterrorist activities such as the World Trade Center attacks and the Madrid and London bombings will be addressed in this session. Planning for natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and pandemic influenza will also be addressed. This session will address the planning for different scenarios and identification of relationships needed to be established and strengthened before a situation happens.
