DESCRIPTION
This event will serve to keep meeting attendees apprised of the cutting edge of therapeutic apheresis in the United States. It will focus on emerging apheresis technologies in selective absorption or filtration, applied to fluid overload and inflammatory bowel disease. One of these technologies is already approved for use by FDA, the other is in pivotal trial phase. The session will also provide a first-time look at cooperative efforts by ASFA and ASCP to "globalize" standards for apheresis education and certification. Finally, ASCP will present an updated description of the application of computer adaptive testing to HP and AT certification in the United States.
