In this session, the evidence to support the use of platelet and red blood cell transfusion will be discussed by physicians who are responsible for establishing guidelines and transfusion triggers to patients on a rather national pattern in Europe, according to the latest epidemiological evidence focusing on blood safety and good transfusion practice.
