DESCRIPTION
This session will provide detailed insight into the rapidly evolving field of Regenerative Medicine. Regenerative Medicine programs engineer tissues and organs through the coordinated efforts of many scientists in such areas as biomedical and chemical engineering, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, materials science, nanotechnology, genomics, drug delivery, proteomics and medicine. The session will describe a central mission of Regenerative Medicine: to share technologies with scientific and industrial communities in order to rapidly translate discoveries to patients. Experts in the field will describe the processes leading to the successful development and implantation of engineered organs. In addition, avenues for novel cellular material application and biomaterial development will be presented.
