DESCRIPTION
Vector borne agents of disease have an increasingly significant impact on blood safety. Many of these agents are emergent, posing new and unique challenges to prevent their transmission. This session will review those agents responsible for Chagas? disease, babesiosis, malaria and dengue fever, and the likelihood of their transmission. Thus, while all vector borne, these agents warrant consideration as separate entities in need of novel intervention strategies.
