DESCRIPTION
Hemolytic disease of the fetus/newborn (HDFN) requires early recognition and intervention. In a lecture format, the speakers will provide an update of the topic beginning with the perinatal management of the mother and fetus. The pathophysiology of HDFN will be reviewed and the selection of appropriate blood products will be discussed. There will also be a review of bilirubin metabolism in the newborn and strategies to treat hyperbilirubinemia.
