DESCRIPTION
The lectures will discuss the mechanisms for the death of relatively normal (e.g., old) cells and cells affected by pathogenic processes (e.g., destruction of circulating cells by auto and alloantibodies involving acute complement-mediated and macrophage-induced mechanisms); destruction of cells by cell (e.g., lymphocyte-mediated mechanisms), and apoptopic (programmed cell death) events.
