Description
A Parent’s Association for Gifted Children designs, develops, and evaluates a professional development model. This is implemented with teachers from two schools. During the first semester, the teachers attend 7 classes covering several topics including: identification, characteristics, curriculum, team work, creativity, social emotional skills, and administration of programs for gifted students. In the second semester, participants develop and implement a project at their school, related to the topics previously covered. Assistance is provided during this semester through monthly meetings and ongoing communication. Research data is collected to assess knowledge gains, effectiveness of the professional development and adequacy of the projects.
