Description
Lovingkindness practice is a complementary practice to the currently much promoted mindfulness practice. Lovingkindness practice actively cultivates acceptance and compassion towards self, and others, for being just the way we are. For many gifted individuals, judgments towards self and judgment from others often cause mild to severe anxiety and depression that may hamper one’s optimal development. In this session, participants learn the history of lovingkindness practice, review the research of this practice, and put it into use with gifted individuals. Handouts and resources for participants to continue the practice at home or in school are provided.
