Description
Teachers who serve gifted youth should be qualified to do so, according to the 2010 NAGC PreK-12 Gifted Programming Standards. Due to budget constraints, professional development in gifted education practices may be more than some school districts can support. Teachers in a curriculum implementation study through the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented reflected on their attitudes, beliefs, and practices after teaching the curriculum and after a full-day workshop with researchers. They saw changes in their own teaching practice, the way they plan, and what they believe constitutes good curriculum for gifted students.
