Description
Project 2Excel, a Javits-funded program, has experienced remarkable success in helping twice-exceptional learners (and their teachers!) thrive in self-contained gifted classrooms. This presentation focuses on how one urban school has used the team approach to developing student "profiles" that collaboratively use the school nurse, school social worker, the special education teachers, and the classroom teacher when the achievement, motivation, and self-efficacy of these remarkable children are at stake. The actual profile form used by this team as well as examples of the changes it has wrought for specific children, are shared.
