Description
This session explores components of effective curriculum and instruction for talented math students, such as promoting an in-depth conceptual understanding, providing engaging and challenging learning experiences, encouraging students to develop the skills of a practicing mathematician, and requiring students to think critically and creatively during in-depth mathematical investigations. Participants examine lessons from the Project M³: Mentoring Mathematical Minds units and think critically about how the curriculum components and instructional practices relate to the ways they are addressing the needs of their mathematically talented students.
