Description
Online learning programs have exploded onto the educational scene in the last decade. For gifted students, whose needs are often not being met in their local communities, online learning has the potential to fulfill the promise of access to an academically rigorous curriculum, highly qualified instructors, intellectual peers, and 21st century skills. This session includes a discussion of what an effective online program for gifted students looks like, the technology used, staff development, what standards should be applied when choosing a program, and which gifted students are best served in this environment.
