Dave Newmark has been innovating in the radio advertising business for nearly three decades — as owner, president and Dave Newmark is owner and president/CEO of Newmark Advertising and Bid4Spots, Inc., two companies that specialize in radio advertising. Both companies are headquartered in Encino, California. Newmark graduated from Stanford University in 1979, and went to work for the full-service agency founded in 1968 by his father, Stuart Newmark. In 1994, he conceived of the CBS Radio Marketing Partnership program for KNX Newsradio in Los Angeles (subsequently used by other CBS NewsRadio stations), in which he served as b__ghost writerb__ for many local station AEs.
In 1997, Newmark and his wife began a program known as Endorsement Radio, in which radio hosts in cities throughout the nation endorse products and services of advertisers live, on their own shows. For this program, he invented Airchecks Onlineb_". Today, Newmark Advertising clients including Procter & Gamble, The Sharper Image, Outback Steakhouse Group, Proflowers.com and many other national advertisers. In early 2004, Newmark conceived of and developed an online auction for radio commercials known as Bid4Spots.com. The beta site was launched in December 2004; the official launch occurred in September 2005. A U.S. Patent for the Bid4Spots process is pending.
