Joanne Demetra, CEO of Project Accessory, has extensive experience in the apparel and soft goods industries. She has expertise in design/ product development, merchandising and international sourcing, along with developing training programs and corresponding manuals, cost controls and analysis, production procedures and sourcing strategies. Her pervious experience of being a Designer for Li&Fung (primary customer Avon), International Sourcing Director at Cyrk and Technical Advisor and Manager at Mast (Limited corp.) has given her the experience to consult from concept to factory… or any part in between.

Mr. Flaherty has started and operated a number of companies in different markets over the years ranging from a chain of Quick Change Stores, Sign Companies, Distribution Companies and Hotels. He currently owns Chromatic Concepts which manufactures and distributes visual communication products to B2B customers via catalogs and the internet.

Description
Sourcing products in Asia has great cost benefits but recently more and more concerns about quality have come to surface including: lead content, child safety concerns, switches in raw materials and components, moving orders to lesser developed countries for cost savings, competency of internal factory management, and errors in translation. In this session, we'll discuss how to overcome these sourcing challenges and hear from several multichannel merchants
who have done just that.
