It offers nationwide direct shipping of artisan cheeses, estate olive oils, and other traditional foods, including bread, pastries, cheese and coffee made in Ann Arbor by other members of Zingerman’s Community of Businesses. Annual sales exceed $10 million. Mo leads the business and is responsible for strategy, food development and marketing.

Herschell Gordon Lewis writes copy for and consults with direct response clients worldwide, is author of 31 books, including the best-selling “On the Art of Writing Copy” and the sardonic “Marketing Mayhem,” and is arguably the best-known copywriter practicing today. Mr. Lewis has addressed sessions of the DMA for more than 30 years and has been elected to the DMA’s Hall of Fame.

Jim Hovis has planned direct mail and publication advertising for mail order companies for 45 years, starting with Precision Optical when he was a junior in high school. While earning three degrees at Northwestern University and the University of Michigan, he applied research and coursework to his family’s mail order applications. His talent for combining analysis, marketing principles, and wild guesswork has made him the head of several successful direct marketing companies.
