"A 20-year-veteran of the direct marketing industry, Anita is now the SVP of Sales and Marketing at Return Path, where she has been for nearly 5 years. She has spent her career helping marketers successfully integrate data and technology for their customer acquisition and customer relationship management programs.. Prior to joining Return Path, Anita spent six years as Senior Vice President, New Markets for Abacus Direct, and as Corporate Sales Director for DoubleClick. Additionally, Anita worked for Acxiom in both sales and management positions. She holds her degree from Fordham University.

Chet Dalzell, Public Relations Strategist & Practitioner, Consultant
As director of public relations with publicly held Harte-Hanks (NYSE:HHS), Chet oversees media relations and corporate communications for direct marketing worldwide in the $1.18 billion company, while participating in issues management, public affairs and marketing activities. Chet currently serves as the chairperson for the Environment Subcommittee of the DMA Committee on the Environment and Social Responsibility. Chet also is a founding member of the company's internal Privacy & Compliance Committee, where he monitors laws, ethics, best practices and regulations affecting direct marketing operations, helps train colleagues regarding information policy and sensitivity toward privacy concerns, and provides information to clients and account teams. He also serves as the chairman of the company's intranet working group, and is a leading participant on marketing, Web site, and special event teams. Chet joined Harte-Hanks in 2000, and is based in its New York City office.
Marsha Goldberger, Director, Corporate Responsibility, Direct Marketing Association
"Marsha Goldberger is director, corporate responsibility, at the Direct Marketing Association. Marsha's responsibilities include directing the work of two of DMA's ethics committees: the Committee on Ethical Business Practice and the Ethics Policy Committee. These committees encourage marketers to abide by the association's self-regulatory Guidelines for Ethical Business Practice through a peer review program; update the guidelines as needed; and develop programs to educate industry members, consumers, consumer advocacy groups, regulators, and others about DMA and its services, including the Preference Services.
In her position, she works with numerous agencies and organizations, such as the National Consumers League, Call for Action, the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Federal Trade Commission, National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and others to publish and promote consumer and business educational materials and programs.
Marsha has been with DMA since 1991; previously she worked for the Council of Better Business Bureaus and the Washington, D.C. Better Business Bureau. "
Peter A. Johnson, PhD, Vice President, Research Strategy and Platforms, Direct Marketing Association
"Peter joined the DMA in 2001 as economist in the former Strategic Information Unit. In December of 2005 he was promoted to Vice President of the DMA's newly-created Research and Market Intelligence Department, in which capacity he oversees the DMA's entire research program.
Since joining the DMA, Peter has written on a wide variety of topics of vital concern to the Direct Marketing community. These have included the economic costs of privacy legislation, the future of the Postal Service, the impact of Internet taxation on state revenues, the outlook for telemarketing after Federal Do Not Call lists, the economics of email marketing, among others. In 2002, he co-authored a brief to the United States Supreme Court on behalf of the DMA on the value of the free flow of information to Direct Marketing. His research on issues such as taxation of Internet retail sales and commercial email has been presented before the United States Congress on numerous occasions.
Prior to joining the DMA, Peter was a professor of economic policy at Columbia University in New York City (where he is still affiliated). He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1991. He has also been a member of the faculties of Bryn Mawr College, McGill University, and the Union Institute."
