Description
Given the important role of the patient environment in disease transmission, an innovative new tool was tested to improve infection prevention and patient safety by objectively enhancing disinfection/cleaning of the near patient environment. Participants of this session will be able to: employ the results of the case study, correctly identify hightouch items in the patient room, describe ways to empower the staff to cultivate a patient safety culture and implement strategies to improve cleaning techniques.
