Description
The environment has played a key role in the transmission of infections in healthcare setting. Hospitals have seen an alarming number of multiple drug-resistant organisms (MDROs) as well as organisms being brought in from the community that have increased morbidity and mortality of patients. It is apparent that greater emphasis needs to be placed on the vital role that the environmental services department plays in eradicating these dangerous pathogens. Participants of this session will discuss the proper training to fight hospital acquired infections, process to partnering with infection control, assess knowledge and tools needed to help make the hospital a safer place.
